On December 18, 2020 a federal indictment was unsealed charging Tacoma neo-Nazi and proprietor of Tac Town Tattoo, Jason “Gravy” DeSimas, and three other neo-Nazis on multiple Hate Crime charges as well as a charge of False Statement for lying to federal investigators. The charges are related to the 2018 beating of two men, one Black and one Asian, that occurred at a Lynwood, WA bar during a pre “Martyr’s Day” celebration attended by neo-Nazis from all over the country. While not arrested the night of the assault, other Puget Sound area neo-Nazis such as Guy Miller and Vincent Nutter were arrested on suspicion of being involved. Miller and Nutter each have a complicated history with law enforcement and their reported involvement in the Lynwood assault was not surprising. Patriot Front and Crew 38 member, Jacob Prior, was also pulled over by police that evening but was not arrested.

On December 21, 2020 DeSimas turned himself into federal authorities after securing the services of an attorney from the federal public defenders office. At his subsequent detention hearing DeSimas was deemed a potential flight risk (previous situations of failing to appear for prior drug and burglary charges and the difficulty in serving the warrant for this arrest were determining factors) and remanded to custody where he has remained since despite the efforts of his attorney citing concerns of Covid-19 transmission within the federal detention facility in Seattle and statements of support.

Update

On March 1, 2021 an order was issued by the judge presiding over the case continuing the trial of DeSimas and his co-defendants until December 6, 2021. Once the trial begins, daily updates (both audio and written) will be available each evening.
